100% New Zealand Merino wool. I call this a ‘Mock Hounds-tooth’ because while the loom set up and treadling was following a traditional hounds-tooth pattern, I did not adjust the treadle tie-up. I wanted to see how it would emerge without changing the tie-up. I was nicely surprised to see how much it still looks like a hounds-tooth! Care instructions to get the best from your handwoven fabric/item:

Gently hand wash in lukewarm water using an environmentally friendly wool soap. Squeeze excess water out by hand, place in a cotton washing bag and spin excess water out in your washing machine. Lay flat to dry.

If your item develops pills (little balls of fluff attached to the item), they can be easily removed using a wool shaver, rendering your item as good as new.
