100% New Zealand Merino wool

This roll of fabric is a traditional black and white Hounds-tooth pattern, but with a random red stripe. We wanted to add a little colour highlight, making a subtle statement. The red stripes are made in pairs of yarn, spreading at random intervals across the warp. The weft, as it was woven, had pairs of red added at the same intervals as the warp. So, while not symmetric, it still has a repeatable pattern.

Suitable for outer wear garments.

Care instructions to get the best from your handwoven fabric/item:

Gently hand wash in lukewarm water using an environmentally friendly wool soap. Squeeze excess water out by hand, place in a cotton washing bag and spin excess water out in your washing machine. Lay flat to dry.

If your item develops pills (little balls of fluff attached to the item), they can be easily removed using a wool shaver, rendering your item as good as new.
